Coaching Matters 2017 - Glasgow

Coaching Matters events are one day workshop style events held across the country and delivered in partnership with the sportscotland national outdoor training centre; Glenmore Lodge.

Who can come?

The workshops are open to coaches of all levels and disciplines and normally take place on sheltered water environment. The workshop counts as Coaching CPD for 3 years. Specific needs: If there is any way we can tailor the course to meet any learning or physical needs, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please bring equipment to be comfortable in during on the water sessions – getting wet is not planned but we are happy to accommodate if candidates want to do some wet sessions. Please bring a boat in your main discipline (the one in which you hold your primary coaching award);   If this causes an issue please advise as early as possible so we can do our best to help.

This year we aim to look at getting to know the paddler and their basic needs within understanding movement, their motivations and ultimately how we can help them to independent decision makers. Throughout the day there will be coaching input and discussions in all craft with implications for the various environments we paddle / coach and lead in.
