The 2018 Scottish Surf Kayak & Wave Ski Championships will take place on the 28th and 29th April on the Thurso/ North Coast Area.
The categories are open to all UK boaters, but it should be noted that you must qualify as Scottish to get a placing at these Championships. That is, you may place first in a Category and get a winners medal, but it will be the first Scot who will be crowned Champion.
The categories, event rules and judging will be done in accordance with those of the WSKA (World Surf Kayaking Association). Please follow this link for more information.
The event venue may move on the day to take advantage of the best conditions. The organisers will do their best do manage venues to successfully run Championship level surfing and also safe novice surfing. If this proves to be a challenge then a location for a successful Championships will take priority. The event venue will be confirmed by the Thursday evening before the event. This will be posted on the Facebook site.
The organisers will have final say with regard to safety.
This weekend will also host the Annual Consultancy Meeting (ACM) for Surf. It will run on the Saturday evening. The time, date and venue are dependent upon that of the Championships and will therefore be notified on the Facebook page. In the unlikely event that we need to postpone then the ACM will move with the Championships to the re-run. This re-run date is the following weekend, the 5th and 6th of May 2018.
