Rough Water Skills – Want to improve your skills and confidence in rough or turbulent conditions? Our rough water skills session will give you the techniques to read the water and become comfortable in chaotic water conditions – surf zones, rock hopping and tidal streams.
Yoga and Sea Kayaking - Boats, balance, core strength and breathing.
Yoga and Sea Kayaking are two disciplines that go together and our mindset is especially relevant when faced with the psychological demands of conditions or even rolling in a pool. Core strength and posture underpin our basic technique and balance is essential. Join me for a day of skills building at an intermediate level, whilst we explore the outstanding coast of Findhorn and the local area.
Intermediate skills - Been paddling for a while but want to improve your efficiency and techniques? Out intermediate skills session will develop the skills you have allowing you to paddle for longer with less effort. We can be flexible on the skills being focused on e.g. support strokes, turning, rescues, forward paddling – the choice is yours.
Trip planning and Day trip - Enjoy exploring different areas but never planned your own trip? We will look at what is involved in trip planning then head out and explore some of the local coast. A practical chance to see what can affect your day out.
Advanced White Water - Read and run the river giving you the skills to read and run in the advanced environment. This workshop will suit those ladies comfortable on Grade 3 and wanting to push forward.
Intermediate White Water - Looking to develop skills on grade 2/3? This workshop will suit those developing their skills and will split into 2 groups to suit your needs.
Introduction to White Water - Are you a touring or sea paddler but not so sure about rivers? This is the workshop for you. We will be exploring the fundamentals of river paddling and trying out a little bit of the bouncy stuff. We will work with you to further develop your edge control, entering and leaving the current, crossing the flow and telling your boat what you want it to do. Using connections and power transfer is vital on the river and we will fully explore those topics. Throughout the day we will be working as a supportive group, managing anxiety and finding out individually what works.
Open Canoe And SUP
Brains not brawn…. Is it all in the stroke? - This workshop will look at maximising your power transfer to really get your canoe moving through smooth and slick technique. 50 Shades of Paddling is all about focusing down on 50 small but effective changes to body, boat and blade to improve your technique - no brawn required!
Intro to Surf Kayak - Join a fun session aimed at confident paddlers who are maybe new to the surf zone and would love to learn how to ride waves and feel in control. The ability to roll would be good.
Improving Surf Kayaker – Have you been out in the surf already and would love to nail your bottom turns or add more flow to your climbing and dropping? Are you already a moderate water kayaker & a give it a try roller? Then come join us & have a great time working at your own pace.
