Andrew Manwell

Paddlers will be saddened to learn of the death, just prior to Christmas, of Andrew Manwell at the age of 86. Andrew will be remembered as a stalwart of the Wild Water Racing scene in the 1970’s and 1980’s acting as Team Manager for many European Adventures. As Principal of PE at Aberdeen University he ensured that paddlesport was promoted at every opportunity. He continued to keep fit during his retirement enjoying cycling in and around Deeside and his home in Ballater. Our sympathies go to his wife June and family. An obituary will appear in the April issue of “Scottish Paddler”.
