River Halladale - Dangerous Fence

There is currently a very dangerous fence made from blue plastic pipe, wooden batons and wire mesh right across the river upstream of the take out at the cemetery. The fence is on a long straight gd 1 section and can easily be seen from the river and portaged.

Connel - Marine Operations and Tidal energy Testing

There is an intention to deploy and test a 250kW floating tidal energy system (known as PLAT-) in the Connel Sound Area, Argyll. Preparation will begin on the 25/10/2017 and run throughout November and December.

Freshets Releases - Date Requests 2018

The SCA liaises with SEPA and secures (where possible) alternative times for releases to suit paddlers and events in those areas.

River Findhorn: Tree Felling operations on the banks

There are tree felling operations on the banks of the Findhorn at Dounduff, just upstream of Randolf’s Leap. To manage safety a short section Findhorn between the Daltulich bridge portage and the Rannich Pool will be closed during working hours (weekdays).
