Hazard: River Spey at Kingussie

Mon 07 January 2019

The tree hazard is around 200m below the road bridge put in at Kingussie at the first right hand bend. It is easily passable on the right hand side for paddlers with competence but would be easily drifted into by novices. The next spate may well shift it but also might add to it causing greater constriction.  It is also right on the junction with the Gynack Burn (coming in from river left) and if the Spey and the Gynack were both in spate it could be quite interesting having a tree in the middle of this confluence.
