Isle of Rhum Red Deer Project

From 15th May to 25th June researchers are trying to tag all the deer calves born in the study area, which stretches from just West of Kilmory Bay to just East of Shamhnan Insir Bay.  If camping on this bit of coastline, it would be very helpful if kayakers kept a very low profile and tried not disturb the deer, which are used to grazing the coastal greens.  If the deer are disturbed  inland and uphill this makes it harder to find their calves. For more information about the project, see  http://rumdeer.biology.ed.ac.uk/
