River Yarrow - Fallen Tree

Tue 12 February 2019

There is a tree across the river at 55.55586, -2.9205, grid ref 361279 which we passed easily on river left

Please note that the thick wire which spans the complete breadth of the river is strung across the river by the Landowner without any warning and remains there as long as he sees fit. Although this is a nuisance to us as paddlers, the Landowner does not put it there through malice. When the river is at normal levels this is not a problem however the point is that when the level rises with heavy rain the wire becomes a hazard to be aware of especially for Open Boaters. Please feel free to contact Bob Baird Regional Officer for Borders for up to date info ro.borders@canoescotland.org
