River Yarrow: Tree blockage and wire

Tue 24 October 2017

Yarrow a large fallen tree which is lying halfway across the river about 50 metres upstream of the Lady Footbridge.

There is a thick metal wire which been has stretched across the breadth of the river and about 3 feet above the water at approximately GR 418296 on the stretch between the second road bridge and Newark Castle. The river was .55 on the SEPA gauge so the clearance above the water will of course lessen as the river rises above that height.

The wire blends in with background and is difficult to see until you are on it so please be careful.
