We have just hosted our 2018 Recogonition Award Celerbrations at the National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde where we announced the deserving winners.

Professional Coach of the Year
This award for someone who coaches for a living, but always goes that extra mile (main source of employment is in coaching).

The recipent of the Professional Coach of the year Award is Stuart Gerrie. Stuart has made an outstanding contribution to the progression of Scottish slalom paddlers in a very short period of time. With Stuart's support, Scottish paddlers have been successful at British Canoeing selections, going on to represent Great Britain at European and World Championships as well as competing with great distinction in international races. While these are the headline achievements, it's the hard work that Stuart put in during the winter months that really made the difference - tirelessly working with the athletes in the dark and cold nights, relentlessly pursuing physical and technical excellence that enabled the paddlers to have such a successful season.
