Marine Scotland Science are working to try and establish the causes of salmon decline on the West Coast and are conducting some tagging work on the River Loy put into the River Loy, (trib of the river Lochy near Fort William).

The Paddlesport Leader Award was launched by British Canoeing on 3rd April, and there are 7 people in Scotland who have already taken the assessment and passed. Well done to those who have quickly made the most of this new award!
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park are reminding loch users of a buffer zone to protect nesting Ospreys at an island on Loch Lomond.
The buffer zone is in place at the south eastern side of Inchcruin and is marked out by buoys.
There is a fallen tree forming a hazard approx. half a mile upstream of the Garmouth Viaduct GR NJ 344 630. Although a significant sieve, being a fairly large tree, stretching right across the channel, it is in a ‘side channel’ and not in the main stream flow.

The Scottish Canoe Association (SCA), the Governing Body for canoeing and kayaking in Scotland, seeks an extremely capable individual to join our programme to replace our Performance Coach in Slalom.
There are nine director roles on the SCA Board. Directors serve three-year terms and a third of the board is elected/appointed at each AGM

The Guide Endorsement is for British Canoeing Leaders who are involved in guiding activity, particularly those working within Adventure Tourism and Commercial Markets. This endorsement is aimed at supporting and recognising the additional skills required when fulfilling a guiding role.
