Drew Samuel

A legend of the sport of canoeing, Drew Samuel has died after a battle with cancer aged 78. Drew was a leading light in sprint and marathon racing over many years holding records at Scottish, British and World level.

Wild Water Sprint World Championships 2016

A big congratulations to Morna Campbell and Louise Revell who competed in this months wwr sprint worlds in Vienna.

Morna came 13th in the second round and Louise 18th. After the finals they achieved a ranking of 18th and 22nd respectively.


Scottish Success at British Sprint Champs

Congratulations to the Scottish Sprint racing athletes who brought home a record haul of 32 medals from last  weekend's racing in Nottingham  - 16 Gold, 7 Silver and 9 Bronze. More details to follow once the GB Team selection is announced later. 


EKC taster sessions - LGBT

Taster Sessions in August 2015

Edinburgh Kayak Club is running taster sessions in August for prospective new club members and would like to encourage more LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans-gender) participants to get involved with kayaking and canoeing and join EKC. 


National Celebration of Para Sport Event

On Saturday 27th of June the SCA helped run the first National Celebration of Para Sport at Strathclyde Park that included watersports.


R Spey - Ruthven Bridge closure

Ruthven Bridge on the River Spey will be closed for essential  replacement works from 29th July - 11th September.  There may be times when navigation past the bridge is not possible and paddlers are asked to check this out before navigating this section which is upstream from  Loch Insh.
