Due to the low temperatures over the last few days, which have got as low as -7C, the canal has a layer of ice approximately 25mm over the majority of the course. The forecast is for slightly warmer temperatures with light winds which is highly unlikely to thaw the ice.
23rd November 2016: 400 metres downstream from the normal put in mentioned in the guidebook at Yarrowford, the road bridge there is undergoing extensive renovations.
The SCA endeavour to keep costs low for members and as such, many fees have remained the same since 2012. However, there is now a need for small increases on membership and campsite fees, and British Canoeing have also announced increases in the Coaching and Leadership Award Registrations.

The bridge has been replaced and the works are now completed. There is a parking area a bit further up the road, (space for 4/5 cars) which has a path leading from it straight to the top fall.
