River Dee: Rope Hazard at Ballater

Due to some works happening at Ballater Bridge on the Dee, there will be a rope stretching across the river just upstream of the bridge. Paddlers will still be able to get down, but please pay attention and keep a look out for the rope.

Safeguarding Survey

With recent media attention on safeguarding in sport sportscotland, Disclosure Scotland, Volunteer Scotland and Children 1st are conducting a survey to identify the knowledge and awareness of safeguarding in sport.

River Spey update

Some weeks ago, paddlers were  made aware of a single tree reported  as a hazard on the lower section of the Spey below Fochabers. The tree in question blocked a channel on this braided section of the river but was in a less-paddled, side-channel.

River Feshie

The River Feshie below Achlean and before the Gorge section is always braided with lots of trees to watch out for. However currently all of the river is flowing through a wooded channel with multiple strainers which means portaging is mandatory. There is no paddleable line currently.
