Coaching Matters Events 2015

We are pleased to confirm the programme of Coaching Matters events for 2015. Coaching Matters is a series of workshops at venues across Scotland, delivered in partnership by some of the leading paddling coaches from sportscotland National Outdoor Tra


Level 2 Refresher Training

We now have a range of dates available in 2015 for Level 2 trainee coaches to attend as a 'refresher'. The two day events are intended for anyone who has completed BCU UKC


River Falloch - Construction Works

Construction works have recently commenced on the Glen Falloch Hydro Schemes lasting until October 2015. A section of the River Falloch will be affected by the works at Upper Falloch during this period.


River Cree access point changed

Paddlers are asked to note that the access point to the River Cree at Bargrennan Village Hall has now changed: the Hall is now  a  private house and access is not through the garden.

British Canoeing Technical Groups

British Coaching’s Coaching Strategy Group (CSG) and Coaching Operations Groups (COG) wish to review and update a number of the existing technical panels to support and provide guidance to them as required on discipline related technical matters 


Coaching CPD Opportunity

We have some opportunities for SCA coaching members to be nominated to sportscotland CPD programmes. The CPD programmes are delivered by sportscotland free to candidates. Coaches must first be nominated to sportscotland by the SCA. 


Club of the Year Winners

This year the winner of “Club of the Year 2014”was jointly awarded to Nairn Kayak Club and Breadalbane Canoe Club. Both clubs offer the opportunity to either compete in Sprint and marathon in the case of Nairn Kayak Club or Slalom in the case of Breadalbane Canoe Club.
