Regional Officer Fife - Vacancy

The current Regional Officer for Fife, Mike Spencer has regretfully decided to step down so we are looking for a new RO based in the region who is able to continue his good work.

Fish Trap - River Loy

Marine Scotland Science are working to try and establish the causes of salmon decline on the West Coast and are conducting some tagging work on the River Loy put into the River Loy, (trib of the river Lochy near Fort William).

Congratulations to our new Paddlesport Leaders!

The Paddlesport Leader Award was launched by British Canoeing on 3rd April, and there are 7 people in Scotland who have already taken the assessment and passed. Well done to those who have quickly made the most of this new award!

Paddlers reminded to take care around Osprey buffer zone on Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park are reminding loch users of a buffer zone to protect nesting Ospreys at an island on Loch Lomond.

The buffer zone is in place at the south eastern side of Inchcruin and is marked out by buoys.

Hazard on Spey - Garmouth

There is a fallen tree forming a hazard approx. half a mile upstream of the Garmouth Viaduct GR NJ 344 630. Although a significant sieve, being a fairly large tree, stretching right across the channel, it is in a ‘side channel’ and not in the main stream flow.
