The Performance Coach learning journey is fluid and personalised to every coach who undertakes the programme. There are elements of the journey that you can start from home.

The Learning Journey can be explored in more detail in the Performance Coach Course Guide .

Check it's for you

If you are interested in the programme, arrange a call with one of the SCA team. This will help you assess the programme’s suitability for your specific learning needs and allow you to check that it will provide the learning opportunities you seek.

Digital Coach Self-Analysis Tool

Take this opportunity to go through the Coach Self-Analysis Tool which will aid you in identifying specific areas of development, helping you to plan your own unique learning journey. Based on your responses you will also be signposted to appropriate resources to support your learning and development.

Community of Learning Events

These events provide opportunities to explore ‘Performance Coaching’ and how this relates to ‘Who’, ‘What’ and ‘How’ you coach.

  • 18th and 19th November - Price £300 full residential including 1 night accommodation.  - BOOK HERE

The next Community of Learning event is now open for bookings. These British Canoeing Awarding Body, 2-day events are designed for well-practiced and experienced coaches who wish to refine and further develop their coaching practices.

They can be accessed as stand-alone events to support your ongoing learning and development, and are also linked to the Performance Coach Qualification helping coaches on this pathway to progress.

The events have a very different look and feel about them to what you may be used to from coach training; with no fixed syllabus it is up to the facilitator team to create an inspiring programme to help you further your knowledge and understanding of a wide range of relevant topics. Book early and you’ll be able to influence the programme content if you’ve got topics that you want to explore.

These events are open to qualified Performance Coaches, coaches on the pathway to completing their Performance Coach, and anyone else with a coaching qualification (e.g. Coach Award, BC UKCC L2, MWE or AWE or BCU Level 3/5). The only other prerequisites are Membership, First Aid and Safeguarding Training.

The idea is that you get to share these events and the learning with other well qualified and experienced coaches. The opportunities for learning with, and from, each other being a core principle that will under pin the style of learning.

Attendance at the event might be the inspiration and motivation you need to advance your practices; you’ll also get to ‘dip your toe into’ the Performance Coach Qualification and may wish to start on the pathway to complete this qualification.
