The SCA campsite is at the old station yard, Grandtully near Aberfeldy. The site is just a short walk from the River Tay and canoe slalom site at Grandtully rapids.

The Campsite is suitable for individual and group bookings from outdoor enthusiasts and the proximity to the A9 means it is well connected. Nearby you can find the Inn on the Tay, Tully Bar, Legends Coffee Shop and Strathtay Stores.

How the site operates

How to request entry codes?

Text: 07760 117641 or  email sca.campsite@canoescotland.org

It is preferred that you send a text message or email but you can call if necessary. Please contact us at least the day before you intend to use the site. Codes can be requested up to a few days in advance as they change regularly. Please don’t leave it to the last minute.

How to register to use the site?

Registration forms are inside the entrance lobby of the campsite building and can be downloaded from this page.  You could customise the form on the website with your own details, print out a few and just write in the date(s) when you come if you prefer.

How to pay?

  • ON ARRIVAL, place completed Registration form with money in envelope supplied;
  • Post through security letter box inside the entrance lobby of the campsite building (money box is emptied regularly – and will never contain much cash)

What payment methods are possible?

  • Cash from anyone (not having the correct change is not a valid excuse for not having paid enough – overpay rather than underpay and claim your change from the Manager when you next see them);
  • Cheques at the time of camping are accepted from SCA members only - i.e. CE/CANI/CW or non-members MUST pay cash.  You can pay in advance through the SCA office.

Who qualifies for SCA Member Rates?

  • Recreational, Junior and Full individual members including family members of these categories;
  • Everyone else is a non-member;
  • You must enter enter all names and all membership numbers on the registration form;
  • The Manager has an up to date list of SCA Members to check membership details;
  • Membership cards should be brought with you and should be shown on demand;
  • British Canoeing/Canoe Wales/Canoe Association of Northern Ireland members who bring their cards get member rates.

What checks are in place? i.e. Why do you need to pay?

  • The entrance codes will change daily and we know who has requested the codes
  • The site will be visited several times a day (at different times) so registration forms and monies will be checked against bodies/tents/cars;
  • You must register and pay ON ARRIVAL.  Any exceptions will be treated as an intention not to pay and you will either be asked to pay the non-member rate (even if you are a member) or asked to leave the site immediately.  If you are taking part in an SCA event you may be disqualified
  • Staying overnight on ANY part of the site is ONLY possible through registration and payment for use of facilities. Vehicles are not permitted overnight in the outer car park.

The SCA is committed to improving the site and keeping costs down whilst making sure that operational costs are covered.  If we all pay our way it will help to keep down the cost for us all.
