EKC taster sessions - LGBT

Taster Sessions in August 2015

Edinburgh Kayak Club is running taster sessions in August for prospective new club members and would like to encourage more LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans-gender) participants to get involved with kayaking and canoeing and join EKC.

National Celebration of Para Sport Event

On Saturday 27th of June the SCA helped run the first National Celebration of Para Sport at Strathclyde Park that included watersports.

R Spey - Ruthven Bridge closure

Ruthven Bridge on the River Spey will be closed for essential  replacement works from 29th July - 11th September.  There may be times when navigation past the bridge is not possible and paddlers are asked to check this out before navigating this section which is upstream from  Loch Insh.

GB Veteran and J16 slalom Champions

Over the weekend of 20/21 June the first ever Canoe Slalom div 1 race took place at Pinkston.  It included the GB Veteran and Junior 16 championships and was a great success.

Canoe Wales are seeking a dynamic coach to join a small team with a performance centred focus of developing the Olympic disciplines of canoe slalom and canoe sprint within Wales.
